Geoff Ogle
Geoff Ogle is the principal composer and arranger for GO Play Productions. Although he was born outside of San Francisco, Calif., he was raised in Seattle, Washington. He received his baccalaureate in Bass Trombone Performance and Music Education from the University of Washington where he studied with Stuart Dempster. He later received a Masters of Music in Studio Jazz Writing from the University of Miami. He has also studied composition with William O. Smith.
Mr. Ogle currently directs the ConEd Art Ensemble at Shoreline Community College. He has been a music educator in the Port Townsend School District and a program manager of Centrum's Bud Shank Jazz Workshop, Centrum's Airtouch JAZZ Port Townsend Festival and Centrum's Chamber Music Port Townsend Festival.
He has written several compositions and arrangements for various artists and Seattle-area music ensembles including the Eddie Daniels, the Pacific Chamber Ensemble, the Jazz Police, Edmonia Jarrett and the MOJO Big Band and Roadside Attraction. His list of multi-media credits include the scores for projects by White Rain Films, Moving Arts Dance Studio, Brown Eye Productions and Luna Productions and he has served an Artists Residency for the King County Arts Commission. He currently lives in Seattle where he works as a freelance composer and music educator. He currently holds membership in ASCAP, IAJE, the Center for the Promotion of Contemporary Composers (CPCC), WMEA and serves on the board of the Seattle Composers Alliance.
