Greg Schlimm
Greg Schlimm is a guitarist and composer who grew up in Baltimore and relocated to Seattle in the late 90s. His musical experiences began when he obsessively wore out his brothers' 45s on a folding record-player. After consulting his brother for many guitar mini-lessons and mix tapes, he went on to study music theory, classical guitar, and jazz guitar as a music minor at Loyola College in Maryland.
His later pursuits included small jazz groups and a multi-year gig with Baltimore acoustic trio The Dilettantes with talented singer and songwriter Jennifer Camp. After moving to Seattle, he formed a jazz-influenced duo and collaboration with composer and guitarist Clark Grogan.
In recent years, Greg has devoted more of his time to composition. In 2008, he completed a certificate in film music from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, led by composers Hummie Mann and Tim Huling. His most recent projects include a chamber music piece that was performed in March at Seattle's Good Shepherd Center and a 9-piece jazz ensemble piece performed at Tulas, both for Tim Huling's Composition Lab (http://www.compositionlab.com).
By day, Greg develops interactive sites, activities, and tools for the Adobe Flash platform at Smashing Ideas.
