A creative and prolific composer,conductor,band leader, educator, Ron Jones has primarally worked as composer on thousands of productions including several of the most popular TV series such as Star Trek:The Next Generation and Family Guy. As a kid Ron grew up in the NW, after college he moved to Los Angeles with his wife to attend the Dick Grove School of Music. Before graduating from the program he was on staff writing for many animated series at Haana-Barbera. Ron and his family stayed in L.A. for 37 years. While there he won many awards and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Song in Media in 2010 as well as several Emmys for best song and best underscore. He started and led the all-star Influence Jazz orchestra made up of the top session and Jazz players from the studios and performed with the group at the top jazz venues in L.A.. His conducting includes conducting hundreds of sessions at the major scoring stages at FOX, Warner Bros, Sony and many more. He recently traveled to London to conduct the London Philharmonic performing one of his pieces from his Star Trek work. Now living north of Seattle on 22-acres where he is building SkyMuse Studios for his many scoring projects and as a center for learning about the art and craft of scoring, music and much more. As founder of the Ravel Orchestral Study and the Academy of Scoring Arts an educational non-profit organization, Ron is very interested in community and presents a Master Class with invited guests to share their experiance and insights.
