I've been writing and improvising music since age 8, and formally studying composition and theory since age 16. I gained the bulk of my formal training during my dual major program (one major was in Composition; I graduated with one major in Music Business/Management) at Berklee College of Music with a total of 147.5 credits. 32 of those credits were from the Composition department, from fall 2005-fall 2008, and more were from additional electives in Film Scoring, Drum Performance labs, Piano Performance labs, and Songwriting. My independent writing falls primarily under the styles of symphonic metal, rock, impressionist classical, and jazz-influenced pop/rock, though plenty of other electronic, Latin, jazz, blues, or other influences show up in my work as the mood strikes me. I am happy to receive a directed composition challenge, puzzle, or assignment, and often create them to give my writing variation.
