The Seattle Composers Alliance
in partnership with the Silverflight ensemble
is pleased to announce a Call for Scores!
The Silverflight ensemble’s overall mission is to help aspiring flutists achieve their dreams. Through providing educational workshops and performance opportunities, we hope to encourage, develop, train, and support young musicians.
We are seeking recent pieces composed for piano, flute, and cello trio by composers of any age. Up to ten works will be selected for a concert of piano, flute, and cello trio works on September 8th, 2018 as a part of the Wayward Music Series at The Chapel at the Good Shepherd Center, starting at 7:00pm.
At the end of this concert, a first, second, and third place winner will be announced from the stage.
All SCA members and non members who reside within 500 miles of the city of Seattle are eligible regardless of age, sex, color, creed, sexual orientation, nationality, marital status, disability, or veteran status.
Pieces should be no longer than 4 minutes in duration and must be composed for a trio consisting of piano, flute, and cello.
Although it is not required, we strongly encourage the chosen composer, to travel to Seattle for the concert. The SCA cannot provide travel or housing accommodations, but can provide letters of commitment if composers are applying for travel or other grants.
Composers may submit up to three pieces for consideration but each piece requires its own form and fee submission.
All submission materials must be attached our web form (linked below). No paper submissions will be accepted. In addition, you must fill out THIS WEB FORM for EACH piece submitted.
Provide a link where a recording/video of your piece can be reviewed. Live recordings are strongly suggested, although MIDI will be accepted. Please do not email MP3 files or audio files.
Make a payment on PayPal for each piece submission using the form below. SCA members pay only $5 to submit while non members must pay $20 for each piece submitted. Please email if you need a fee wavier.
All submissions must be received by August ?st, 2018. Selected composers will be notified by August ?, 2018. Performance materials will be required by August ?, 2018.
