On Thursday, February 18th, the Seattle Composers Alliance is pleased to present nationally recognized multi-instrumentalist and composer, Steve Kirk. Mr. Kirk recently completed the music for the game Bartlow’s Dread Machine and will share his signature approach to composing music for games:
• Setting up a template, with sound examples for some of the instruments used
• Dread Machine game concept as it relates to music
• What MIDI instruments to strategically replace with musicians and which to leave intact, with sonic “before and after” examples,
• Preparing parts for recording sessions
• The advantages of composing with both DAW and handwritten notes
