Happy Holidays from the Seattle Composers Alliance! May your hands be warm, the creativity rich, and may the scoring be most excellent. This year, as in every other year, we will not be holding an annual party, however, we have been invited by the Northwest Film Forum to share in theirs! December 11, at 7pm at the NWFF theater. Festivity highlights include, but are not limited to:
Ye olde community pot luck, featuring Liz’s famous crock pot meatballs, Line’s signature glogg (mulled wine for you non-Nords), homemade egg nog and whatever-delicious-things-you-bring. Cineoke, aka karaoke Three Dollar Bill Cinema-style complete with movie scenes in the big theater DJ Brian Perkins spins his collection of vintage soundtrack vinyl from the staircaseGet your gamble on in back alley dreidel, administered by Lou Karsen and Matt LeventhalSnap a selfie on Santa’s lap – this year it’s John Criscitello! Dance party, perhaps with special Magic Mike XXL-inspired playlist.
Call For Scores In other news, we are reaching the final leg of our 2nd Annual Call for Scores with the NOCCO String Quartet. The call for scores will close on December 15th, so be sure that your submission is postmarked by then. Also, the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra is holding a call for scores, due in February.
Master Class with Ron Jones Lastly, on December 12th, Ron Jones is hosting another master class, this time with Steve Turnridge, mastering engineer, at SkyMuse Studios (29127 40th Ave NW Stanwood, WA 98292). Free and open to the public!
