Deadline for SCA Creator Crossover

February 25, 2023

Calling all SONGWRITERS and ARRANGERS!

The SCA is launching a new series of concerts that will feature collaborative works by different art and music creators. For this first Creator Crossover, the SCA will be creating pairings of songwriters and arrangers. Here’s how it works:

Songwriters will apply with two songs they want to collaborate with an arranger on. Arrangers will submit various examples of their works and highlight the types of moods and textures they enjoy/are proficient at creating. Both types of applicants will answer a series of questions to give the SCA board a good idea on who should be paired with who. Applications will close on February 25th, with 6 songwriter/arranger pairings being made by the SCA board by mid March. The songwriter/arranger collab team will have 2 months to work together and arrange parts for Townsend’s Solitaire; our featured ensemble who will perform the arranger’s arrangements with the songwriter (live!) for the concert. Arrangers will utilize up to these five instrumentalists of Townsend’s Solitaire: flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano. This first concert will be hosted at Ballard Homestead on July 15th, with audio being professionally recorded! Listen to some of Townsend’s Solitaire on Bandcamp to hear their sound!
