SCA SPARKS SERIES: AMA TRIO PLAYS ALKI PARK

Seattle Composers Alliance presents a concert by AMA Trio, near the shelter in Alki Park (West Seattle) on Sunday September 3 from 2-3:30pm.This all-ages acoustic event is the third of four open-air concerts in the SCA’s SPARKS series, featuring local ensembles performing in Seattle City Parks performing a mix of their own repertoire and new works by Seattle Composers Alliance members. SPARKS is funded in part by the Mayor’s Office and the Seattle Parks Department.
Correo Aereo (Abel Rocha and Madeleine Sosin) plays soulfully melodic and richly polyrhythmic pan-Latin music. This gorgeous and intoxicating Latin/World music decolonizes the mind and celebrates life! Composer Amy Denio is an internationally recognized multi-instrumentalist and member of the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame.
AMA Trio features Correo Aereo members Abel Rocha (guitar, cuatro, jarana, venezuelan harp, voice) Madeleine Sosin (violin, bombo, maracas, guido, jarana) collaborating with composer Amy Denio (accordion, clarinet, guitar, bombo).
