What is Tezos?
Tezos is a pioneering, community-governed blockchain that puts decentralization into practice. Unlike traditional crypto projects, Tezos allows stakeholders and community members to vote on protocol upgrades all the way to the top through consensus – ensuring a fair, democratic evolution of the network.
One of Tezos’ most groundbreaking features is its self-amending system, which lets the community improve the network without messy splits or conflicts. Unlike many blockchains where big changes can cause division, Tezos allows its stakeholders to suggest, discuss, and vote on upgrades directly within the system. Once a proposal is approved, the upgrade happens smoothly with full consensus—no disruptions, no drama. This keeps Tezos stable over time while ensuring it can grow and adapt in a way that truly reflects the community’s voice.
This system has fostered a thriving creative community, making Tezos one of the most unique and artist-friendly blockchains in the world—a true home for digital creators. Unlike many NFT platforms that have abandoned artist royalties, Tezos remains a place where fairness matters: transactions are transparent, collaboration is encouraged, and the spirit of artistic experimentation lives on.

What is TEIA?
TEIA is a grassroots, international, multidisciplinary arts community that was born out of the Hic et Nunc (HEN) movement in 2020. Decentralized and fully open-source, the organization is run and maintained by the DAO, with a core team of representatives, and over 2500 members, with an official non-profit status from the Marshall Islands since 2021. TEIA’s platform also includes novel and unique features not seen anywhere else – text-based art (acii and the written word), MIDI minting, open-sourced copyright and licensing registration, on-chain community polls and proposals, and an organizational model that’s compatible to both digital and traditional practices.
Visit teia.art for more information about how to create and register works through the organization, as well as more details about the governance process ($TEIA).
This event is sponsored by Tezos Commons, TEIA, and teia.cafe.
