Christopher Monty is a composer for film and video games based in Seattle, Washington. He draws on his classical orchestral training paired with his adept understanding of electronic techniques to create unique and powerful scores.
Christopher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition from Ball State University; studying with notable faculty Dr. Amelia Kaplan and Dr. Chin-Ting Chan. Christopher has also received his Master’s Degree in Film Scoring from the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program, under the direction of two-time Emmy award-winning Hummie Mann. Additionally, he has collaborated with faculty including Akash Thakkar, and critically acclaimed composer and orchestrator Jarryd Elias.
Christopher began his musical journey at a young age, playing both the violin and piano. Throughout his career, he has written for a variety of musical ensembles, ranging from solo pieces to full orchestral scores. Recently, Christopher is focused on the intersection between electronic and acoustic mediums; specifically creating unique hybrid sounds.
